Home Sweet Home

I live in the semi arid desert region of West Texas called the Permian Basin. A road trip through our part of the country offers amazing views of the sky – bright golden sunrises and watercolor sunsets so immense that they take your breath away. The land is incredibly flat and sprinkled with mesquite trees, cactus and the occasional wild flower. Breaking the monotony of the landscape, oil wells, pump jacks and wind turbines accent the horizon. Cattle ranches spread far and wide sharing the natural resources that West Texas offers. The birthplace of a U. S. President and the home of "Friday Night Lights," Odessa offers a beauty all it's own. It is a good place to build a life.

BLESSED

I entered motherhood at a very young age. Barely twenty years old, the focus of my life abruptly changed from my own wants and needs to those of my tiny little girl. How was I to know that the greatest joys of life would come in the smallest packages. Furthermore, who was to know that these tiny beings would demand so much of their earthly hosts. On October 11, 1977, I became a mother and since that day, my life has belonged to others. Just a short fifteen months later, my April would become a big sister to Natalie. Double the joy - double the responsibility. In my current life, these two young women have brought seven precious souls into our family. Cameron, Aubreigh, Brittany, Michal, Joel, Brennon and Kielyn - my dear ones.
My sweet Steve is the best grandfather these kids could have had. I am blessed, often overwhelmed, always tired, but blessed.
