Home Sweet Home

I live in the semi arid desert region of West Texas called the Permian Basin. A road trip through our part of the country offers amazing views of the sky – bright golden sunrises and watercolor sunsets so immense that they take your breath away. The land is incredibly flat and sprinkled with mesquite trees, cactus and the occasional wild flower. Breaking the monotony of the landscape, oil wells, pump jacks and wind turbines accent the horizon. Cattle ranches spread far and wide sharing the natural resources that West Texas offers. The birthplace of a U. S. President and the home of "Friday Night Lights," Odessa offers a beauty all it's own. It is a good place to build a life.

SUMMER HIBERNATION

I wouldn't call this week relaxing. I am still the principal of the Mamma Kathy Grandkid Day School. But Cam, Aub, and Bren spent each morning this week at VBS. Little Kielyn and I had a few hours each morning at home. While entertaining the princess, I was able to make some progress on organizing my home office and getting some major cleaning projects done. Then the afternoon came and all progress ceased. Thinking back on the week, I believe that I have left the house only to shuffle the kids to and from VBS, twice to the store, and once to Mom and Dad's. I have spent the rest of this week here at my beautiful new home. Summer hibernation is fun!
